Today's topic is about :
Germany "1 NATO member to launch cyber command ".
On Saturday Germany 's armed forces launch a cyber command , with a status equal to that of the army, navy and air force, by the meaning of to shield its IT and weapons systems from attack.
Military forces fears that wars of the future start with cyber attacks against critical infrastructure and networks, extensive online espionage and sabotage and with a new digital force, Germany is taking a leading role among NATO allies, its new commander Lieutenant General Ludwig Leinhos told for focusing on this news.
General Ludwig Leinhos said that " The main task would be operate and protect the military's own IT infrastructure and computer-assisted weapons system as well as online online threats".
As well as the centre would also develop & war games offensive capabilities :
" Because in order to defect your self you should know have the options for attack"
Any scale cyber attack would have to approved by German parliament, just like any other Military forces mission.
However the German has been sensitised to cyber security since the parliament was attacked last year, with more security the attacker were Russian. Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen has announced the creation of cyber command two years ago to protect the military from increasing the numbers of online cyber attacks.
In this year's first nine weeks alone, the IT system of the Bundeswehr has been tracked more than 280,000 times.
NATO, which says it has seen a five-fold increase in suspicious events on its networks in the past three years, agreed last June to designate cyber as an official operational domain of warfare, along with air, land and sea. The new German command will based in Bonn with annitial staff of 260 growing to around 13,500 when the military's current strategic command and centers for perational communication & geo-information are folded in.
By 2021, the command is due to have a total of 14,500 positions, including 1,500 civilian jobs.
In Germany domestic and foreign intelligence agencies cites increasing Russian cyber attacks against political parties Russia denies engaging in such attacks.
