Hi guys !!!!
I am here with a new post !!!
Scientists of Germany have just made an artificial Sun which is the largest in the world and for first time which can be used to create hydrogen in future. The project is known by the name "SYNLIGHT".
It is located in Jülich , Germany and operated by the German Aerospace Center (DLR).
Synlight uses 149 xenon lamps to recreate the light from the sun onto a single point, it vaporizes the water that produces hydrogen and oxygen. The Lamps are focused on a 20-by-20 centimeter area. The 350-kilowatt array can produce about 10,000 the amount natural solar radiation at Earth's surface.
The idea is that current solar panels are not capable of functioning at maximum efficiency, so Synlight points all of its lamps at one spot and temperature reaching up to 35,00 degrees Celsius roughly three times hotter as of a blast furnace . We need billions of tonnes of hydrogen if we need to drive airplanes and cars on "CO2 free fuel " .
Testing of artificial Sun "Synlight"
Germany is the among biggest inventors from around the world in renewable energy.
Hydrogen could be the good resource of fuel in the future since it doesn't produce carbon emissions upon burning and therefore would not contribute to global warming. Hydrogen does not naturally exists in its real form . Artificial sunlight could provide a more affordable solution in the future and help counter global warming.
Other experiment was done in small rooms but the synlight is up to its next level. The scientists manage to produce hydrogen with the 350 kilo-watt array of the huge artificial sun ,they could scale up the process up to as much as industrial level.
Thanks-you all. For more interesting updates please follow us here:
