Hello friends, welcome back to NewAgeInformers. I hope you all had read my last post regarding the Jio-Fiber which will offer 100 Mbps to their customers. But, today in this post there is a great news for all the broadband users. Yes, the state owned BSNL is now offering the download speed of 1000 Mbps(Mega bit) to it's broadband users.
Telecom Minister Manoj Sinha had launched on Friday, a next generation optical fibre-based technology on BSNL network that will provide broadband connection with download speed of up to 1,000 Mbps to it's users. Let me tell you that 1000 Mb = 125 MB (Mega Byte). It's really a great revolution in India. Due to the competition among all telecom companies, the citizens of India are well profited and will get more profit in coming future. Till now Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited was offering the highest speed of 100 Megabits per second on it's broadband network. But, now providing the speed of 1000 Mbps on it's fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) is a huge achievement for the state owned BSNL and a very tough competition to all of it's competitors.
"BSNL has successfully implemented a major project of NG-OTH technology in 44 cities covering state capitals and major cities. Under this project, total 100 major cities including state capitals shall be covered in phased manner during current financial year," Sinha said while inaugurating the highest speed plan in India. He also added that the next generation optical transport network (NG-OTN) would be implemented in three phases with a total outlay of Rs 330 crore. Regarding this amazing plan, BSNL Chairman and Managing Director Anupam Shrivastava stated that the this project was aimed to enhance existing 10G capacity to 100G capacity of Optical Fibre infrastructure of BSNL. This means now in back-end they will have 10 times more capacity and will be launching new plans with 10 times more speed. He also said that this enhanced capacity will help retail customer base of BSNL in landline, FTTH and mobile services.

The new technology of NG-OTH will help BSNL in quick restoration of telephone services if its network element at any mid-location gets damaged in case of any natural disaster or any other calamity.
