As we all know that Android is the most used operating system in the smart phones all over the globe. Google has introduced the I/O Play Protect feature, it's an application evaluation service which was introduced in May this year on trail basis. But, now it is available globally and it will provide up-to-date reviews of each and every apps installed on Android Phone.
What is Google Play Protect?
=> Google Play Protect is a feature provided by the Google for Android users which will be enabled by default on all Android devices, it is a real-time malware scanner that will scan every installed or about-to-be installed app and inform users in case there’s something not secure. So Google suggests to get this feature as soon as possible on your Android phone if you don't have it in order to make your phone secure from losing it's privacy.
This feature help the users to take precautions steps in case they found any theft or threat from any installed apps in the Android phone. According to the Google, this evolution will be performed in the background continuously without disturbing the user. Originally, Google Play Protect was released on a trial basis for some limited users only. But now it is available globally and it guarantees excellent security for all the installed apps on the Android phones. To use this service of Google, users need to have latest version of Google Play Services' version 11 on their device.
Now here is how you'll check whether you've Google Play Protect on your Android device or not. This feature is absolutely hidden deep in Android devices and this will not be accessed directly through Play Store app. All a user needs to do is to go to the Phone Settings > Google > Security > Google Play Protect, it will also shows that which apps were scanned automatically.
Let's have a look at how will this new feature of Google will keep Android devices secure?
=> Google Play Protect is actually designed to scan any of the malware on the Google Play Store as well as on Android device, but not on third-party websites and app stores that host Android apps. This service will still alert user if he/she were to install an app from a different app store rather than Google Play Store. User can check for the status of installed apps by going to the Google Play Protect option in the manner described above. There, user will get to see when the last scan was performed on his/her device, and it will also show a list of potentially-harmful apps, installed on the device.
