Hi guyzz !!!!
I am here with a new post !!!!
The world smallest spacecraft ever launched has successfully placed in low Earth orbit by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) via PSLV (Polar satellite launch vehicle). It is named as Sprite. the 3.5cm x 3.5cm space probe weigh 4 grams each and run on sunlight.
1) Each "Sprite" spacecraft is about the size of cracker and is equipped by the radio, computer and other instruments.
2)The feat is a step towards developing even smaller and more capable "star-chips" robots.
3) Starchips may be propelled by lasers to the nearby Alpha Centauri star system within two or three decades.
Alpha Centauri is the closest star system, ever known, to the Solar System. It is approximately 4.37 light-years from the Sun. It consists of three stars: Alpha Centauri A and Alpha Centauri B, which form the binary starAlpha Centauri AB (also named Rigil Kentaurus), and a small and faint red dwarf, Alpha Centauri C (also named Proxima Centauri), which is loosely gravitationally bound and orbiting the other two at a current distance of about 13,000 astronomical units (0.21 ly).
The six cracker-Size robots which is known as "Sprites" are printed circuit boards that is designed to survive in space. Each one comes fully equipped with tiny solar panels and two antennas, a tinny radio, computer, gyroscope (to move the stable spacecraft) and magnetometer (to orients the Earth's magnetic field) and each Sprite is almost water-thin, measures about 12 square centimeters (1.9 square inches ) in area weighs the same amount as four US dollar bills.
These titty bitty space borne Sprites are designed to help in paving the way for even smaller single-chip spacecraft, and are currently performing well in systems tests that include beaming messages back and forth with California and New York ground-based communication stations, as well as with amateur radio buffs who can pick up the "Sprites signals " as they passed overhead .
Why we use this Spacecraft:
Breakthrough Star-shot hopes to be able to prove that it's possible to create a spacecraft propelled by light that can reach speeds up to 20 percent the speed of light itself, putting them into photogenic range of Alpha Centauri planetary bodies including Proxima b. (It is an exoplanet orbiting within the habitable zone of the closest star to the Sun—the red dwarf star Proxima Centauri, which is in a triple star system)
Thank-you all !!!!
