When it comes the word Cyber Crime, the humans are their own worst enemies. By targeting the people who use the network via Social Engineering or Phishing scams is the most successful way to break into their network. Now a days hackers are even more smarter that they can steal your passwords without going into your network or else we can say that just talking with you or by going through their social life they simply tries to own you.
Social Engineering is an art of exploiting human psychology. The hackers have various sources from where they can find the useful information. For example now a days people used to share their personal information, their likes and dis-likes, their hobbies and all of stuff which creates a heavy useful database which can help anyone to find your passwords. Because at the end we all have passwords with our daily routine so it can be easily remembered. Yet the Statement makes sense "Social Engineering, The enemy inside you…"
Be aware from the persons which are trust worthy or we can say surrounded by you, they are like very famous quote “ Walls have ears, doors have eyes”. They will listen you and see you and from their they will try to own you.
Phishing comes under the social engineering but it occupies the half of the portion of that. Most of the hackers try to gain information from the phishing and most common way is to send malicious links via email. In these email based attacks, they are looking to gather your personal information, bank details, credit card numbers and login credentials. The emails look as similar as they are from the trusted party with the help of HTML, logos and email addresses. It’s very easy to trick someone if they are not familiar with signs that indicates that the content is suspicious.
As per the above image we can see that daily millions of attacks are flooded and from that very huge amount of users information can be gained. The most effective way to protect against these attacks is by educating users, take awareness programs and give information in very easy language so that they can understand it.
