New Gmail Glitch Allows Sending Phishing Messages Anonymously

Hello Everyone! Welcome to NewAgeInformers where we believe in sharing knowledge. Today we are going to discuss phishing attack and a real-time scenario happened with a huge brand 'Google'.

Your Gmail account can be hacked, when you discover something fishy. Yes, a new bug has been found in the Gmail. Gmail is affected by a phishing attack. A software developer Tim Cotten from Washington, DC, found Gmail glitch. Gmail fails to show the source of the message there is no sender information available in the mail header.

Name of the sender is malformed in a particular way due to that ‘From:’ shows with empty space and subject line.

We can’t see sender address after opening it. It remains hidden and no information to show. Not any action will help like adding to contact, sending mail, scheduling events etc.

Trying to reply this mail is also not help as sender's information will not appear here.

‘Show original option’ of the email which shows sender name but the details are still unavailable and from field is empty

"Without the sender information there this looks completely legitimate and a well-educated user could easily be suckered into compromising their own account," Cotten explains.

Without sender possibly user open malicious mail and click on the link provided or attachments especially it may contain subject which is actionable or urgent.

This vulnerability is related to user experience (UX) and not addressed by Google yet so Gmail users need to wait for fixes.
